Regional After School Technical AssistanceThe California Department of Education has developed a statewide system of support for state and federally funded after school programs. This support network is made up of CDE Education Programs Consultants and Regional Leads. Members of this network provide training and technical assistance to support California's after school programs in providing safe and educationally enriching environments for children and youth. Regional LeadsIn conjunction with CDE Consultants, Regional Leads implement training opportunities and activities uniquely designed to fit the needs of local before and after school program grantees. The Regional Leads spearhead the regional system of support, which is administered in each of the eleven regions by a local county office of education. Each regional lead works with local grantees and after school organizations to plan specific assistance and workshops, to increase communications and networking among program sites, and to increase site level support for program coordinators, staff, and community partners.
